The National Junior Classical League convention is always a great experience. This year’s convention in Indiana was no exception.

From arrival to departure, there was never a moment when there was not something fun or interesting to do or see. Art, academics, and athletic competitions offered every kind of delegate a chance to show off their talents in their own way. Nightly dances, karaoke, That’s Entertainment (a talent and comedy show put on by the SCLers [college students] with help from JCLers), and many other activities kept delegates busy into the evening.

Purple and Gold spirit day at the General Assembly

General Assemblies at the convention are, and always have been, the highlight of each day. The houst and sights of every spirit competition never case to amaze me. When over 1500 JCL delegates come together, the entire atmosphee is filled with energy and excitement.

My experiences at every national convention have been so great; I’ve met so many wonderful people and made so many great friends. Every trip to the national convention, no matter where it is held or who is attending, is worth it. The national convention was by far the highlight of my summer, and perhaps even my year.
